Cramming is very common among students, however frequent sleep deprivation can result to serious health problems such as:
- mental disorders like anxiety and bipolar depression
- increased risk for heart disease, cancer, obesity, stroke, heart attack, and diabetes
- increased risk of addiction and impulsive behaviour
To top all of these, all-night studying is really not helpful because since memories are formed through deep sleep, much of the information the student spend so much time learning won't sink in. This makes the student's effort futile.
The best way to study is to go about the course at different points in time, rather than in just one sitting.
